Teaching

Teaching has been at the heart of the ephemeral art exhibitions and competitions since the beginning

Sand In The City® events began with sand sculpture training of 15+ teams of local business employees. They received hours of hands-on training, and
then competed against each other.

It was always surprising how great these sculptures turned out, but it was by design!

Lesson Beach at Seaside SandFest!

As always, these lessons are offered to all attendees free of charge.  Our commitment to arts education and accessibility is the cornerstone of what we do.
It's how we build the tribe, how we help create the next generation of sculptors.

From Novice to Master are welcome to benefit from the skills and passion of our group of dedicated, passionate artists.
Our next new event in 2026:
The Cool Chef Challenge, a High School Garde Manger Event.

Three SW Washington high schools will participate in professional-level Garde Manger training with
the Head of the Clark College Culinary Department, culminating in a public event & competition.  Winners get bragging rights and money for their school's culinary department!
